Reviewed & explained by experienced Quran educators

Healing a child—physically or emotionally—is every parent’s deepest concern. In Islam, the Quran is a source of shifa (healing), mercy, and reassurance for believers. While medical care is essential, the Quran nurtures the heart, calms fear, and strengthens tawakkul (trust in Allah).
Below are authentic Quranic verses and surahs commonly recited by parents for their children’s spiritual healing and protection.
Quranic Verses for Children’s Healing
Allah reminds us that true healing comes from Him:
1. Allah Alone is the Healer
English Translation:
“And when I become ill, it is He who cures me.”
Reference: Surah Ash-Shu‘ara (26:80)
2. Healing as a Divine Sign from Allah
English Translation:
“Then eat from all the fruits and follow the ways of your Lord made easy for you. There emerges from their bellies a drink, varying in colors, in which there is healing for people. Indeed, in that is a sign for a people who reflect.”
Reference: Surah An-Nahl (16:69)
3. The Quran as Healing and Mercy
English Translation:
“And We send down of the Quran that which is healing and mercy for the believers, but it increases the wrongdoers only in loss.”
Reference: Surah Al-Isra (17:82)
4. Healing of Hearts and Souls
English Translation:
“O mankind, there has come to you instruction from your Lord and healing for what is in the hearts, and guidance and mercy for the believers.”
Reference: Surah Yunus (10:57)
5. The Quran as Guidance and Cure
English Translation:
“And if We had made it a non-Arabic Quran, they would have said, ‘Why are its verses not explained in detail? Is it a foreign Quran and an Arab messenger?’ Say, ‘It is for those who believe a guidance and a cure.’ And those who do not believe— in their ears is deafness, and it is blindness for them. Those are being called from a distant place.”
Reference: Surah Fussilat (41:44)
6. Ayat al-Kursi (Complete)
English Translation:
“Allah—there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.”
Reference: Surah Al-Baqarah (2:255)
7. Last Two Verses of Surah Al-Baqarah (Complete)
English Translation:
“The Messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord, and so have the believers. All of them have believed in Allah and His angels and His books and His messengers, saying, ‘We make no distinction between any of His messengers.’ And they say, ‘We hear and we obey. Grant us Your forgiveness, our Lord. And to You is the final destination.’ Allah does not burden a soul beyond that it can bear. It will have the good it has gained, and it will bear the evil it has earned. ‘Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we forget or make a mistake. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our Protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people.’”
Reference: Surah Al-Baqarah (2:285–286)
Quranic Verses for Children’s Healing from the Evil Eye
There are no specific verses exclusively revealed for the evil eye, but all Quranic verses are healing and blessing. Among those commonly recited are:
English Translation:
“And indeed, those who disbelieve would almost make you slip with their eyes when they hear the reminder, and they say, ‘Indeed, he is mad.’ But it is nothing except a reminder to the worlds.”
Reference: Surah Al-Qalam (68:51–52)
English Translation:
“Then return your vision twice; your vision will return to you humbled while it is fatigued.”
Reference: Surah Al-Mulk (67:4)
English Translation:
“And he said, ‘O my sons, do not enter from one gate but enter from different gates; and I cannot avail you against Allah at all. The decision is only for Allah; upon Him I have relied, and upon Him let those who rely depend.’ And when they entered from where their father had ordered them, it did not avail them against Allah at all except for a need within the soul of Jacob, which he satisfied. And indeed, he was full of knowledge because We had taught him, but most of the people do not know.”
Reference: Surah Yusuf (12:67–68)
